The Perseid shower streaked in flaming colors across the sky. The dark felt of the sky seemed bright with the stars strewn it, in a swath of the Milky Way. On the ground below the scene, lay an Immortal in wait. This Immortal was waiting for the darkest hour, for it was then that he would be able to hear the voice of his beloved.

Watching the falling stars explode in the atmosphere, the Immortal thought of his beloved. His gentle lips, the sweet romantic side that he rarely showed, those nights when the sex was soft and sweet.

How he missed his beloved, but, soon, they would be together, if not in body, then, in voice.

The thought of his lover warmed the Immortal. "Soon," he whispered to the unnoticing sky. "Soon I can hear his voice again." Wishing upon star, the Immortal glanced at his watch. It was time. He picked up the cell phone by his side.

For the first time in a long time, he said a prayer. A prayer of forgiveness, that his beloved was no longer angry with him. A prayer that his beloved had heard the song of his heart.
